Quiet K!nk Carer Policy
Quiet K!nk Carer Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines the guidelines for attendees who wish to bring a carer to Quiet K!nk, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
Eligibility
1. Attendee Requirements: All attendees wishing to attend must be registered and approved to attend Quiet K!nk events.
2. Carer Requirements: Carers should have a clear understanding of the event's nature and the specific needs of the attendee they are supporting.
Registration Process
1. Advance Notice: Due to the strictly capped head count at Quiet K!nk events attendees must notify event organizers prior to purchasing tickets to the event if they plan to bring a carer. Event organisers will then arrange for a half price ticket for the carer*.
Conduct Expectations
1. Respect and Consent: Both the attendee and their carer must adhere to the event's rules. Event rules are posted around the event.
2. Role Clarity: Carers should primarily attend in their supportive role, avoiding participation in kink activities unless explicitly agreed upon and required by the attendee.
Accessibility and Support
1. Event Accommodations: Organisers will provide reasonable accommodations as needed to ensure both attendees and their carers can participate safely.
2. Communication: Attendees are encouraged to communicate their specific needs and any potential triggers to their carer and event staff both prior to and during the event.
3. Carer Responsibilities: Carers should be familiar with the needs and requirements of the attendee and know how to assist the attendee in case of a crisis.
4. Safe Words and Signals: Both the attendee and carer should establish clear safe words and signals for effective communication prior to the event.
Confidentiality
Carers must respect the privacy and confidentiality of all attendees. Any sensitive information shared during the event must not be disclosed without consent.
Feedback and Review
Event organizers will periodically review this policy to ensure it meets the needs of the community and makes adjustments based on attendee feedback.
*Unlike other larger events Quiet K!nk as an event does not make a profit and is run purely on a voluntary basis and therefore we cannot offer free tickets for carers. While we try and cater for as many people as possible, we cannot cater to all. As much as we'd like to we cannot be neurodiverse friendly, disabled friendly, allow free carers, and be a low cost event. Should this change in the future we will update this policy.
